Summer is the perfect time for serving up frosty cocktails. Try these icy mixed drink recipes when the weather gets warm.

Forget the pre-made drink mix, frozen cocktails can be made quickly and easily with the proper ingredients on hand. Just follow these refreshing mixed drink recipes for the ultimate summer cocktail experience.

Blue Hawaiian

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz light rum
  • 3 oz vodka
  • 2 oz blue curacao
  • 10 oz pineapple juice
  • 3 oz coconut cream
  • crushed ice

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients except crushed ice into a blender and mix on low speed for 20 seconds.
  2. Add enough crushed ice to fill the rest of the blender, approximately 4 cups.
  3. Blend on low speed for 30 seconds or until smooth.
  4. Pour into glasses, garnish with drink umbrellas and serve.

Frozen Strawberry Margaritas

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz Tequila
  • 3 oz Triple Sec
  • 4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)
  • crushed ice

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients except crushed ice into a blender and mix on low speed for 15 seconds.
  2. Add enough crushed ice to fill the rest of the blender, approximately 4 cups.
  3. Blend on low speed for 20-30 seconds.
  4. Pour into glasses, garnish with strawberries and serve.

Frozen Banana Daiquiris

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz light rum
  • 3 oz banana liqueur
  • 2 large bananas
  • 3 oz fresh lime juice
  • 3 tsp. simple syrup
  • crushed ice

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients except crushed ice into a blender and mix on low speed for 20 seconds.
  2. Add enough crushed ice to fill the rest of the blender, approximately 4 cups.
  3. Blend on low speed for 20-30 seconds.
  4. Pour into glasses, garnish with drink umbrellas and serve.

Watermelon Margaritas

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups diced watermelon, seeds removed
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 12 oz Tequila
  • 6 oz Triple Sec
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • crushed ice
  • sugar for rimming (optional)

Directions:

  1. Place diced watermelon into a blender and liquefy.
  2. Add lime juice, tequila, triple sec and sugar.
  3. Blend on low speed for 20 seconds.
  4. Add enough crushed ice to fill the rest of the blender.
  5. Blend on low speed for 20-30 seconds.
  6. Rim margarita glasses with sugar.
  7. Pour into glasses and serve.

The Ultimate Pina Colada

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz light rum
  • 8 oz pineapple juice or crushed pineapple
  • 1 small banana
  • 4 oz cream of coconut
  • fresh pineapple wedges for garnish (optional)
  • crushed ice

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients except crushed ice into a blender and mix on low speed for 20 seconds.
  2. Add enough crushed ice to fill the rest of the blender, approximately 4 cups.
  3. Blend on low speed for 20-30 seconds.
  4. Pour into glasses, garnish with fresh pineapple wedges or drink umbrellas and serve.

Island Style Rum Runner

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz light rum
  • 4 0z dark rum
  • 2 oz blackberry brandy
  • 1 0z banana liqueur
  • 3 tsp. fresh lime juice
  • 3 tsp. grenadine
  • crushed ice

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients except crushed ice into a blender and mix on low speed for 15 seconds.
  2. Add enough crushed ice to fill the rest of the blender, approximately 4 cups.
  3. Blend on low speed for 20-30 seconds.
  4. Pour into glasses, garnish with drink umbrellas and serve.

Each of these drink recipes make approximately four servings. To make two servings, simply cut the ingredients by half. Garnish the cocktails with fresh fruit or drink umbrellas before serving for a festive touch.
